AART Designers contributed to the realization of a large, new charging park near Langeskov, along the E20 highway on Funen, featuring 30 fast-charging stations for electric vehicles.

Bright and elegant charging

The charging park is one of the first in a series of such facilities being developed across Denmark by the Danish Vejdirektoratet to promote a more sustainable mobility and infrastructure.

AART Designers were responsible for the design of the four canopies at the site. The design is characterized by a sleek and minimalist roof that creates a light and elegant aesthetic. The roof surface is clad with bifacial solar panels, whose transparency allows sunlight to filter through, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. During the evening and nighttime hours, integrated LED lighting ensures a comfortable and secure environment beneath the canopies while vehicles charge.

The design represents a scalable concept that can easily be integrated into similar future projects.

We designed the canopy with the ambition to create a simple and aesthetically robust solution that will stand the test of time, balancing material-optimized proportions, visual identity, and user experience. The floating roof is supported by round columns, which give a slender and refined appearance as light and shadow play across their rounded form.
