Hedda Andersson College and Svaneskolen reaches milestone

Last week, we celebrated the traditional topping-out ceremony for Hedda Andersson College and Svaneskolen in Lund, Sweden. We are developing the project together with Wingårdhs, Skanska, and Lund Municipality.

The vision behind Hedda Andersson College and Svaneskolen has been to create an open, vibrant, and accommodating study environment to the benefit of the students, teachers and the local community.

On the inside, the building is connected by tour atrium houses in an open, communal area on the ground floor – the heart of the school. In this way, a set of clearly defined and safe environments with their own identity are created, while, simultaneously, contributing to an increased focus on community in the everyday life of the school. The outside of the college has been designed to reflect Lund’s longstanding tradition of university and educational buildings made from its own unique type of red brick named the “Hedda-stone”, that in addition to being a warm and lasting material, continues Lund’s long history with university and educational buildings with bricks.
