Modern wooden houses with traditional roots
Inspired by the traditional Swedish wooden houses, we have designed eight terraced houses in the new district Trädgårdsstaden on the outskirts of Skövde.
Roots in tradition
The project consists of eight terraced houses on two levels of approx. 130 square meters each. The houses are cladded with light wood panels, which gives a soft and comfortable look. Just as a transition to the natural surroundings is created on a wood-covered slope at the back of the houses, where the private gardens are surrounded by the lush, green landscape. The houses' L-shape create optimal daylight conditions and space for an inviting courtyard, where there is room for cars and bicycles. The buildings are located near the boundary with the street, which helps to ensure a lively environment in the street space, provide maximum space for the private garden. The project has been developed in collaboration with Fiskarhedenvillan for Skövde Municipality.
