Prequalified to design major urban development area in Oslo

We are among the 16 out of 118 teams that have prequalified to design one of the last major urban development areas in Oslo.

The development area, Grønlikaia, is set right next to the fjord in the Bjørvika district. With up to 3000 residents and 3000 workplaces, it will cover almost a quarter of the entire district. It will, thus, have a significant impact on the district and the capital area overall.

For this reason, Hav Eiendom AS and Port of Oslo wish to design a variety of urban and building structures based on how the future residents will interact with the city and each other – all with the vision to create a vibrant and attractive setting for the future “Fjord city” of Grønlikaia.

Together with our landscape architects from edit!, we look forward to giving our take on translating this vision into a strong and constructible architectural concept. Three teams have been prequalified for each of the five sub-areas, constituting the total development area of Grønlikaia. And we are among the three teams prequalified to design the sub-area, Buffersonen, which will mark the transition between the city and the fjord.
