Prequalified to develop sustainable experimental building in brick

We have prequalified to the competition to develop Realdania By & Bygs sustainable experimental development project ‘Mini CO2 – TEGL’ – that, if possible, will be entirely built out of brick.

The multi-storey house in tile is the second development project under the name ‘Mini CO2’ that the philanthropic association Realdania By & Byg has initiated in the Danish city of Fredericia’s new district ‘Kanalbyen’ (Channel City). The house will be built as a “mono-material house” – meaning that brick is used in as many parts of the building as possible. The aim of the project is to create a living lab for the exploration of the power and potential of using tile as tile by studying and developing new, innovative solutions that will reduce the building’s carbon footprint as much as possible.

An innovative approach that reflects our own ambition of creating architecture with measurable and discernable impact – where we make virtue out of strategically studying and generating new knowledge on the social, economic, and environmental impact of architecture.
