AART completes an eco-friendly car park

30.03.2015 / “A modern hospital also includes a modern car park,” vice chairman of the Regional Council, Bente Nielsen, emphasized in her speech at the inauguration of the new multi storey car park at the Regional Hospital Silkeborg in Denmark.
With over 100,000 patients a year, the hospital needs functional and future-proof logistic facilities. The multi storey car park meets this demand, and after a construction period of just 10 months (two months shorter than expected), the car park is now ready for use.
The 9,840-m2 car park includes an underground floor and two and a half storey split-level above ground with 338 parking spaces. The car park has been designed as a CO2-neutral building, and when the renovation of the hospital building is completed, it will be connected to the hospital via a 46-meter transparent footbridge.
