The world's most accessible holiday resort

07.08.2014 / Musholm has broken ground for the world's most accessible centre for holidays, sports and conferences. In the new issue of Muskelkraft, published by the Danish Muscular Dystrophy Foundation, you can read about the prospects for the enlarged Musholm facility, which is due to be completed in June 2015.

In 2013 we won the competition for the extension of Musholm, located by the beautiful coastline of the Great Belt in Denmark. At the moment, Musholm mostly resembles a building site, but one year from now, the extension of the Danish Muscular Dystrophy Foundation's current holiday facility will be completed and ready for inauguration.

With a new multi-purpose hall, gym, restaurant, kitchen, 24 new holiday homes, community facilities and a new reception, the Danish Muscular Dystrophy Foundation will have realized the dream of building the world's most accessible centre for holidays, sports and conferences.

"Musholm is quite unique, and I am confident that we as a municipality can learn a great deal about the accessibility of Musholm and the lessons learned by the centre," says the Mayor of Slagelse, Sten Knuth, to Muskelkraft.
