The Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg marked the beginning of the construction of the new Østfold Hospital.
On the 5th of September, the Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg cut the first sod for the new Østfold Hospital in Graalum in Norway. The 82,500m2 hospital is the largest building project in the region’s history and the Prime Minister emphasised the magnitude of the project as it will affect many people by becoming the future healthcare centre of the region.
In his speech the Prime Minister, therefore, told that he is looking forward to the new hospital as it will ensure a good treatment for the patients and a good work environment for the staff. In continuation hereof, he promised to return for the inauguration in 2016.
In 2002 we won the international competition for the new Østfold Hospital in collaboration with the Danish studio Arkitema and Norwegian Eliassen & Lambertz-Nilssen Arkitekter. During the last years our project office in Graalum has generated credible healthcare knowledge from thorough research and we are now looking forward to contributing to the physical genesis of the hospital.
