The final bidding round has been completed and with contracts of € 100 million in total, the bidding rounds comply with the budgetary of the compulsory competitive tendering.
In November the construction of Østfold Hospital in Norway reached yet another milestone when the third and final bidding round was completed. With contracts of € 100 million in total, the three bidding rounds met the budgetary of the compulsory competitive tendering to the delight of the developer, Helse Sør-Øst.
The contracts include facade construction, construction-related decor and fire proofing. Through all the bidding rounds, we have carefully studied the received offers and, among other things, made demands on economy, delivery and profitability, as just small errors of judgment or unforeseen expenses can be costly when it comes to major hospital projects.
The bidding rounds were succesfully completed just a month after the Norwegian Minister of Health, Jonas Gahr Støre, laid the foundation stone for the hospital. In his speech at the laying of the foundation stone, Jonas Gahr Støre emphasised that the 300,000 citizens of the Østfold region can look forward to one of the most efficient hospitals in Europe when the hospital will be inaugurated in 2015.
