On October 31 we celebrated the inauguration of Svaneparken, which has been transformed into a modern day-care centre, where specially designed fixtures create a colorful and playful environment.
On October 31 we celebrated the inauguration of Svaneparken which was built in 1920 as a hospital and until the 1980s housed a psychiatric asylum. In 2010 we began an extensive renovation of the historic building which now has been transformed into a modern day-care centre.
We have renovated the exterior with respect to the building's unique history, but have redesigned the interior in the desire to create an exciting and future-oriented environment that provides a strong sense of community among Svaneparken's five integrated day-care centres.
All the fixtures are specially designed based on the latest research in pedagogy. In the design of each fixture we have challenged the traditional approach to the design of day-care centres, as each fixture merges with the building and creates a playful landscape of niches, plateaus and caves.
