AART architects designs new landmark in Sydney

13.06.2013 / AART architects has been invited to participate in the competition for a new student residence that marks the gateway to the University of Sydney. With its 400 rooms, eight floors and panoramic view of Sydney's skyline the student residence will become a landmark building in Australia's largest city.

"Over the years, we have developed several buildings with a strong social statement, and we look forward to bringing our knowledge and experience into play in this competition, where the objective is to strengthen the community spirit among students from 134 countries," says Torben Skovbjerg, partner in AART architects.

For the competition AART architects has teamed up with the Australian architectural firm Hames Sharley. Four consultant teams have been invited to participate in the competition, in which AART architects is the only non-Australian architectural firm to have been invited. The winning project will be announced in late summer.
